Jared grew up in Salem Oregon back in the 70’s & 80’s where he grew a passion for motocross racing and fishing. If you are familiar with the Mid Willamette valley you know this area is surrounded by some of the best fishing waters in Oregon. Running through Salem is the Willamette River and feeding into it is the North & South Santiam rivers. These two tributaries were know back then as 2 of the most premier rivers in the state for Salmon and Steelhead. To the west of Salem are some of the best costal rivers you will find in Oregon; the Siletz, Alsea and a little further up north the Tillamook and Wilson. In these waters Jared caught thousands of fish which helped refine him into the fisherman he is today.

After High School Jared went to Oregon State University where he got a degree in Fermintation Science ... yes, Jared has a degree in making beer and has worked in some of the largest brewery’s in Oregon. Jared has worked for both Bridgeport Brewery and Deshutes Brewery.

And without much hesitation Jared started his guide business in 2005 and has not looked back. Jared became one of Oregons most successful guides and in 2013 he had the opportunity to purchase a Salmon Fishing Camp on the famed Nushagak River in Alaska. Today Jared spends a few months of the year in late spring and early summer hosting clients at his Nushagak River Salmon Camp and in the Fall through early Spring he guides the Columbia and other costal rivers.

Jared is married to Jennifer his wife of 24 years and they have one daughter who is 8 years old. Jared calls the central Oregon area home and enjoys spending time with his family every chance he gets.
